Meditations by a shrink rating: 2
Actually, Gael Chiarella is a life coach, and listening to this c.d. is like meditating with a life coach, rather than a yogini. It might work for some, but I found the wording and imagery especially off-putting. For example, in meditation 2, we're instructed to make positive affirmations about ourselves, like "I am the master of my destiny" and "I am courage in action". Hardly yoga-oriented in the emphasis on the ego, and hard to take seriously in any case. In the final relaxation, she intones over and over "I am peaceful and safe in the arms of my breath." Whatever.

Very relaxing rating: 4
This is a great CD set for relaxation. I use it the most in the car, which is probably not the optimal setting, but nonetheless it keeps me relaxed in traffic. Gael's voice and intonation are so very soothing, and the background music compliments her meditations. I was happily impressed with this set.
