This is the audio from the Brighton show and not from the Eastbourne DVD. (There are other reviews for this audio on Amazon elsewhere.) I found Eddie's speech difficult to understand when listening to the CD in the car, but at home with a headset it was all very clear, and very, very funny. Some of the bits on the DVD are shorter here, or absent, and there are others that are typical Eddie - leading into cul-de-sacs from which he must back out, or ending in the delightful surprise. The best part about this show is that Eddie is clearly enjoying himself, and laughing along with his audience. If you have an Eddie Izzard library but have not added this CD, you will not be sorry to do so.

A Disappointing Try

I love Eddie Izzard's humor because it is intelligent and observant and delivered with perfect timing. This CD would have been that way, too, if they had taped it at Eddie's NYC show. However, in Brighton, by his own admission, Eddie was not feeling well and he never ever hits his stride. I laughed maybe three times in the whole 2 disc set. This is highly unusual--and most disappointing.
