 | A Must-See, and A Must-Have for Your WWII Library rating: 5
This movie is a classic. The details are solid, right down to the hack watch the co-pilot's wearing. Someone did their research, and that's a lot to ask for from Hollywood.
You will love the crew - all played by not well-known actors (save Matthew Modine and Eric Stoltz), but strong actors all the same. Funny moments, tragic moments, and suspenseful moments. While this may not be an accurate depiction of the Belle's 25th mission, it seems to be an accurate summation of all the missions that preceded it. You're essentially a part of the crew in that B-17.
Not much more to add to what other 5-star raters have said, but this is a movie I pull out and watch at least a couple of times of year because it's that good.

A fun and entertaining film. rating: 5
If you are a World war 2 enthusiast, like I am, you have to see this film, it may not be the best film of the genre, but it is very entertaining and gives the viewer a glimpse of the war from the perspective of the ones who fought in it.

not a Bio-Pic but great movie anyway rating: 5
There seems to be some nashing of teeth about some of the historical accuracy, and it is duly noted artistic license was definately taken in this movie, but I'm glad they did it anyway because the end result is fantastic. What has been mentioned in these postings is the filmakers used the real deal planes as much as they could, and the sight and sound of these mighty giants is awesome. I think that years from now when these great machines are truely just things of the past, relegated to dusty museums, those who are curious will have movies such as this to see and hear these great aircraft as they lived and breathed. I remember a family friend who flew these planes in WWII who said once to come in for a landing was like " landing a bus ". I also thought it was an exciting and heroic story that was a thrill to watch and made me ultimately feel good. This movie will make the peril and the thrill of flight over the European theatre in WWII very real, and very memorable. This film has a great cast of talented popular young actors and some decent veteran cameos in what is ultimately an exceptional period piece the neither preaches or glorifies the actions of war ,and is very highly recomended.

Nach Berlin ! rating: 5
It is a great war film. Living in a bomber raises a big shot of fears, true feelings lived by a crew for his latest mission in the bomber aircraft "Memphis Belle".
What an adventure. A formation of bombers too early abandoned by hunters allies is attacked by German fighter then harassed by the flak.
What images! Quilted German planes, sensations guaranteed when bushings from the side machine guns rain to the ground, when the ventral turret no longer works, when the fire blasts in the plane ...
Heroism in ordinary and in extraordinary actions. A beautiful film.

FLY BACK IN TIME rating: 5
"Memphis Belle" is in my top 10 movie list. (Last count, there's 53.)
The film is based on a true story of heroism during WWII. A real, air-worthy B-17 was used and the interior shots were filmed in sections built according to the original Boeing blueprints. I admire authenticity.
The actors were well casted but Matthew Modine and Sean Austin stood out for me as very believable characters.
This movie made me a fan of Harry Conick jr.
Words don't do it justice; just get it for your collection.
