These speakers are a great deal for the price, very very loud and clear. You don't even have to use them w/ a computer, they are perfect to just plug in and hook a discman or mp3 player to if you need great stereo quality at home or on vacation.

I own these speakers which are on the wife's computer. I own 2 sets of another speaker system which one set is on my computer AND one set is on my GigaBeat MP3 player. I also have one set of a third style for my portable DVD player. All work very well AND sound GREAT!! Enough Said!

One of my favorite speaker sets

I have tried to find a pair this size that beats these speakers, but have been unable to do so. I've had them for years and still use them daily. They're perfect for portable CD players, MP3 players, and my laptop too. For my PC I like a louder sound and the 3-piece set w/ subwoofer is ideal, but for everything else, this pair is hands down the best I have yet to encounter in its price range.

I've had these speakers 3 yrs now, they never fail! Sound is great bass is not too loud, Highs are decent, I use them at work all day listening to my ITunes and no problems thus far!

Bangin' Bucks

I have used a set of these Altec Lansing ACS33 speakers since mid 2000. They have only on rare occasion been turned off. My computer is on day and night, only to be turned off by a power outage, when the power goes out in a thunderstorm. The speakers have always sounded just wonderful, and have had many comments directed at them by visitors, as to the quality and quantity of the sound coming out of those "small things". It doesn't matter what is shot through them - whether it be music, game sound effects, online talk shows, digital HDTV sound, or Paltalk audio - they always sound awesome.
Unfortunately, just two weeks ago a power outage knocked them out. Electronic things most often die at the moment when they are powered on, and so after six years of almost constant use, they died. Now my neighbor in the apartment next door won't be pounding on the wall anymore. Once in a while I've forgotten that he's there, and got the walls a shakin'. Oh well, must shop for some new speakers.
I doubt very much that I'll find any new speakers that offer so much bang for the buck.
