I have a hp pavilion 9870, that accepts 128pin non-ecc RDRAM, but even w/ those specs. you're not guarenteed compatibility if you buy a generic RIMM.

Spend a little money tho. on a static-wristband, you can buy those at radioshack, and do some research on the web on precautions when installing equipment into your computer, be it RIMMs, expansion cards or whatever. Protection against static discharge damage is essential.
