Ralph Kwasi Agudze uses the traditional shape of the West African horn mask to create this superlative sculpture in native sese wood. The imposing faces are adorned with rich embellishments of brass and copper. Horns are said to represent power in Ghanaian society, and men from royal families often wear masks such as this one as part of their ceremonial attire. Skillfully carved by hand and finished with dark tan and Mansion polish, this mask makes a sophisticated addition to any contemporary decor. Lolotowo means âbeloved one.â Driven by a passion for the arts since childhood, Agudze learned to carve in a few short months. The skilled artisan intuitively creates each work as a testimony to West African culture. Manufacturer: NOVICA
