In general, light reflected from water, glass, or other shiny materials is polarized and adversely affects image definition. Circular polarizing filters reduce or eliminate unwanted reflections and increase the overall contrast of subjects in low-contrast situations Usually, light from the sky is polarized due to reflections and dispersions in the air. Circular polarizing filters cut these reflections, making the sky blueror intensifying colors. Manufacturer: Nikon

I know, I know - Nikon gear is really expensive. But I think it's still one of the few things in life where you get what you pay for. As my uncle once told me, "Kid, if you want the best things in life, you've got to be prepared to get ripped off to get them." Truer words were never spoken.
Would I like to pay a little less (or maybe even a lot less)? Sure. But this product performs, it's well machined and I suspect it will last me a good long time. Works for me. In the grand scheme of things, I'll forego two reasonable dinners and take the polarizer any day...

Excellent FIlter! rating: 5
I used this filter several times and it performs just like any other Nikon product. The best part about this filter is how it reduces window and water reflections. Excellent!

Bought this for my Canon lens :) . Works well. Has the thread so you can mount the lens cap when not in use. Very nice compare to the more expensive BW

Good product. As advertised. Quick and low cost shipping make it a good deal.

my best filter rating: 5
This filter is worth every penny and then some. Artistic possibilities that it extends are endless and I've taken some amazing photographs with it even in relatively low light conditions. Once I put it on my lens, it stayed on there until I got the stepping rings so that I could use it with my other lenses (my other brand CPs have been resting since). It's constructed really well, has smooth rotation and is a delight to use. The colors it helps to bring out are surreal, yet authentic, and there are no "distortions". With mitigating/eliminating refection and refraction the performance of this filter is far superior to any other ones I've tried. No regrets here, this is my one and only.
