Rip Off rating: 1
This is a complete rip off. Very disappointed with this product. BELKIN... It's 2008. Does USB 2.0 Ring a bell?
This is supposed to be an active extension. Who needs ACTIVE unless it's USB 2.0
All Other "Respectable" products at the same price . Oh, if u still don't get it this cable will only give you 12mb/s instead of 480mbs. So it's a USB 1. I purchased 4 ... I threw them all out the window. NO one even wants to take them.Damn you Belkin.

Belkin USB Active Extension Cable rating: 5
I needed to attach a printer/scanner to my computer located about 35 feet away. Two of these active extension cables plus a 5 foot passive cable did the trick. The printer/scanner seems to work fine.
I had previously tried a wireless printer receiver/transmitter and was startled to find that, while the printer worked fine, the scanner was totally inoperative. After searching the internet for solutions, I discovered the active USB cables which can be used to create a link as long as 85 feet. The cable was "messier" than a wireless connection, but it works.

Great USB Extension Cable rating: 5
I bought this to extend the receiver for the Logitech Cordless Desktop LX 710 Laser so it could reach the signal in the next room so I would also be able to use the cordless desktop on my HDTV and it works great.

USB 1.1 only! rating: 1
Note that this cable is a slow USB connection and will slow down the peripherals connected to it to USB 1.1 speed! This was not noted in the product description.

Great product. rating: 5
Great product...exceeds what I expected it to do. I hooked this product to a Wireless LAN USB stick in order to be able to pick up a WIFI signal so I can connect to the internet. Thought I would lose some signal strength in the process but actually I have seemed to gain more strength. Very durable also, I am stationed in Iraq and I hang this cord outside in the heat and have had no problem and no degradation. 100% recommend.
