I recently ordered this brush after deciding to ditch buying endless cans of shaving cream which will only end up in a landfill. The brush works wonderfully, and really whips up a nice lather. I highly recommend it.

My first shave brush

Even though I have been shaving for MANY years, I decided to purchase my first shave brush and go back to a double edge razor. The motivation was twofold. First the ridiculous expense associated with the modern 3, 4, 5, 6 blade systems, and the un-needed contribution to the already overburdened landfills.
I love this thing! It's very heavy for its size and seems to be well made. I just use a small dab of shave cream and work up a great lather. It also feels great when applying it to my face. I also purchased the Merkur Heavy Duty Safety Razor at the same time (reviewed there).

Exactly What I Expected

This is the first badger brush I've ever purchased. I'm happy with its quality and performance. It builds lather in seconds, and holds quite a bit of water or lather in its bristles. I don't see a reason to spend any more on a brush, unless you are a gear fanatic.

This is my first badger shaving brush, and I'm very satisfied with it. I don't know how it compares to the much more expensive brushes out there, but it's certainly a big improvement over the cheap bristle brush I was using in the past. I don't regret not spending more.

This being my first badger brush, I don't know how competent a reviewer I can be, but i am really happy with it. It is large enough to hold a lot of foam (sometimes i fell like it actually holds too much). It is fairly heavy and robust, which i also like.
I've been using it for about 6 months now, and have a feeling that it is going to last for years.
Make sure to hang it to dry and wash it thoroughly after each use.
