Zelco Amazing Lantern
Great for use in a tent or around the picnic table, this compact lantern not only glows brightly but repels mosquitoes to within twenty feet. Two switches operate the lantern: one for the light, produced from four tiny but strong LED bulbs that never need replacing, and one for three different mosquito-repelling settings. Switching among the three settings every 15 minutes will increase the lantern’s effectiveness. Since only female mosquitoes bite, the lantern uses two ultrasonic tones to mimic the (undesirable) male mosquito, thus keeping the females away. The lantern also provides a setting for audible tones that mimic the dragonfly, a natural predator of mosquitoes. The light and repeller can be used either at the same time or separately. When the lantern is extended for use it measures 6 inches in length; pushed together for storage, it measures 4-1/4 by 2-1/2 inches. The case and the clear light chamber are made of durable plastic with two metal rods for extra support. Four AA batteries (not included) are required for operation. A small semicircular ring flips up to allow the lantern to be hung from a nail or tent loop; to facilitate hanging, a cord will need to be tied to the ring.
