LitesNow Valo Instant Track Five Light Track Lighting Kit, White #KF0033

LitesNow Valo Instant Track Five Light Track Lighting Kit, White #KF0033

For simplicity of installation, it's hard to do better than LitesNow's Valo track-lighting systems. Here's how it works: Locate the spot on your wall or ceiling where you want to install the system, then cut and/or bend the track to fit your surface. Then peel off the backing to expose the adhesive strip and press the track into place (you can also attach the track with nails or screws if you wish). Then install the lamps by sliding them into place on the track. Plug it in and you're done.

Like the other track-lighting systems offered by LitesNow, the track in this kit has an adhesive backing that allows you to easily install it on just about any surface, including drywall, metal, wood, brick, cinder block, soundboard, bulletin board, wallpaper, painted surfaces, cubicle fabric, and paneling. The backing is flexible, too, so you can bend it around, for example, exposed beams. The track can be cut to the desired length with an ordinary pair of scissors, as can the power cord. In other words, this kit is extremely adaptable, and can be installed just about anywhere.

Of the Valo systems offered by LitesNow, the Firefly is the one to pick if you're looking to mount on a vertical surface, though it can also be mounted on ceilings. Once installed, the narrow, low-profile track is barely noticeable--all your attention is drawn to the lights. Note that you cannot add extra lights to this system.

Overall, a great, quick-fix track lighting solution that's safe, effective, and visually appealing. For additional track-lighting options from LitesNow, see model numbers KV0007, KV0006, and KF033.--Josh Dettweiler

LOVE the Valo Lites
rating: 5

I love this product and am greatly disappointed that it is discontinued. It enabled me to get nice/good lighting in areas where I can't install recessed lighting or hardwired track lighting.

THANK YOU! I hope mine last for 50 years!

Perfect for my application
rating: 5

I needed these for under a bank of upper cabinets over a bar eating area in my kitchen. I looked far and wide for a soft-wire (plug in) type pendant system, with little luck. I found these and they work perfectly. I hung them from the upper cabinets and the lights hang down and reflect light off of the wall. They aren't as light as regular light bulbs, but I needed them more for eating and sitting at the bar, not as bright lights. I think the paper/cardboard shades are kinda cool.

I did have trouble getting the adhesive to stick to the slick surface under my cabinets...BUT I could get regular old scotch tape to stick...so I ran a line of regular tape, and stuck this adhesive right to the tape! Worked great...and..repositionable!

My transformer does not get hot at all even after a 4-5 hours. I like that the transformer/dimmer also can be removed and reattached so you can slip the wire just about anywhere! I may order another set as I think I cut mine too short and have figured out a better way to place it. I should think more before I start!

simple installation

Very nice product. More versatile than regular track lighting. Only thing I could see wrong is low wattage should be better emphazised. Just know that higher wattage bulbs can be used but you will only get a total of around 50-60 watts total spread around whatever area you're installing these lights in. Used them in my bedroom but in conjunction with two other fixtures. Also, used them around my home-gym area and found it better using them for more highlighting than as a one fixture installation. Just plan very well before what exatly you'll be using them for.

Many compliments!

I've had these little lights up for a year and thoroughly enjoy them. I installed them in a row facing down over some old family photos (in rather a dark corner) and they are perfect for lightng them up! I don't keep them on except when people are coming over or on dark winter nights, and I have had just one bulb burn out. They were easy to install and can face in whatever direction you wish. As another reviewer said, they are not bright, but they were not advertised to be. Another caution - the bulbs themselves do not stick out more than an inch from the wall, so if you are using them to illuminate something, it can't stick out too far either. They are a great accent light for a dim corner, over the bed, etc. I have had many, many compliments on them!

Easily installed light
rating: 5

This light kit is easily installed and well suited for accent lighting. The wiring is standard and fixtures seem reasonably robust. The switch sticks to the wall and consists of a sliding potentiometer and transformer. These vary the intensity and stepdown the voltage from 120 to 12 VAC. The weak point is in the slider, which can arc and cause voltage transients that burn out the transformer. When you install, make sure the slider works smoothly and there is no blinking of lights or buzzing from the slide action. If there is, I recommend returning for replacement. Most of the units are OK as delivered. In general, this is a neatly designed and quality unit, so I rate it highest.
