Overall, outstanding combination of synergy between classical paintings and classical music. This DVD has added new dimensions and appreciations of classical art for me. The presentation of the paintings, with beautiful color saturation, matches perfectly with very-well recorded music. Some of the colors are breathtaking and the painter's techniques are displayed with fine details. EITHER the music OR the paintings could be my primary focus to enjoy or study. Each painting's name is clearly labeled onscreen with the artist's name, period, and museum noted. The camera angles display the paintings major and minor themes and beauty extremely well. BOTH relaxing AND uniquely energizing. As a surprise bonus track, try catching up on some household projects with it playing. Here comes Van Gogh next...artist's image, dates living, and immediately to the paintings. This is a much different experience than books or music alone.

Great idea, implementation is ok.
I had the vision in my head of my TV as a big scrolling painting... it doesn't quite work out that way as most all of the art is not 16:9 format.
Pictures are still nice and for dinner parties it's nicer than a big 'black hole' in my wall, but the effect isn't nearly as good as what I imagined it would be.

Someone Has Learned To Do It Right.

In most of the reviews I write, describing products purchased on Amazon, I try to inform the buyer what problems I have found with the product. But I can find no problems here. In short, these people have created a First Class DVD that goes far beyond anything I have purchased before. All I can say is "Just go out and buy it".
After watching the DVD for a time one of the things I enjoyed most was going online to their website and playing around with the many other products they offer. You can see samples, hear the music, and even experience their many gadgets. A great way to spend an hour or so at no cost to you.

This made for a very nice and classy background while I had a dinner party. Many people gravitated towards it, and I overheard some nice comments. Only use this for your more sophisticated friends though, the hillbilly side of my family showed up and tried to change the channel...

I own this for quite a while. I was attracted by impressionist galleries but I didn't like music selection. For impressionists galleries you also may like this Impressionists Art Galleries and Music of the Time, 2DVDs+3CDs Ultimate MosaicDVD Collection as it offers very rich collection of art and music.
This DVD is nice overview of impressionist art and keeps your screen busy. It also makes nice backdrop for party or special dinner. I see this kind of entertainment has a future for educated customer, bored by stupid tv.
