Attractive piece and good price but flemsey

Instead of throwing out my old bed frame that incudes a box spring with my mattress and buying a more modern bed, I choose the more economical option of just adding this stylish headboard to make a more "adult" bed. The headboard is an attractive board in a stylish mocha finnish with clean lines that easily fit a standard Queen bed. You assemble it with the enclosed hardware. Having a power drill or screwdriver will help.

The only problem I had with the piece was, if you lean on it or shake the bed, the headboard wabbles a lot. Being made out of press-board doesn't offer a great deal of stability. It was slapping against by back wall each time I got in and out of the bed. And I feared it would break if I sat up in bed and leaned against it to watch TV.

My solution, since I couldn't physically get the bed any closer to the wall for support, was to attach two 2X4 pieces of wood to the back of the headboard. With those in-place the headboard fit snugly against the wall and became rigid and firm. With the minor and easy to fix solution in-place I've now got a great headboard that doesn't move. And you can't see the 2X4's at all.
