The boys of Maroon 5 have certainly come a long way since their days in the indie outfit Kara's Flowers. After the band's demise in 1999, frontman Adam Levine surrounded himself with New York City's urban hip-hop culture and found a new musical calling. Maroon 5 were born and their debut album, Songs About Jane, illustrates an impressive rebirth. This import version of their 2002 album adds 4 bonus tracks, 'Rag Doll', 'Harder to Breathe' (Acoustic), 'This Love' (Acoustic) and 'This Love' (Kanye West Remix). BMG. Manufacturer: Bmg Int'l
Price: $4.95

| User Reviews | | A magical ride on the soulful rock train! rating: 4
This is better than Green Day's Dookie, Incubus' first 3 CDs (the putrid Fungus Amongus, overrated to the High Heavens, S.C.I.E.N.C.E. and the sporadically magical Make Yourself). It's also a tad better than Make Yourself by the same band.
This is the Maroon 5 that I miss. True that it's still TOO, too early to hear their signature sound, seeing as they've just released a second disc in May 2007, but I still can't help but wonder what pressure caused them to "suit up" (literally) and take themselves WAY too seriously?!?!?!
It confuses, angers and saddens me, all in one try!
I miss songs such as Harder To Breathe, She Will Be Loved, Tangled, The Sun, Through With You, Rag Doll and my favorite, the sexy and sultry, Secret.
I have this import version and it's worth it just for Rag Doll. Just don't pay more than what you have to for this. I'm guessing without looking at the price here, you can get away with this import album for less than 20 bucks. I got mine at Wal-Mart 2 1/2 - 3 miles from here. It was 14.99 and I'm happy!

I have the import version, with mixes of This Love. None of the extra songs are good, save for Rag Doll, which is full of bluesy emotion.

Love all their songs!! rating: 5
I love this cd and i bought the piano music for it. The book isn't very good though because it doesn't have the song on it that i bought it for. I wanted to learn "Rag Doll" but it doesn't have it on it and that was the whole purpose for buying it. I tried learning it by ear but it is soooo hard. I bought the cd for "this love" and "she will be loved" but i'm so sick of them now. The best ones are secret (skip the first like minute it's practically nothing), through with you, not coming home and ofcourse rag doll. Maroon 5 is the best.

Awesome cd rating: 5
I can listen to this cd all the way through wihtout pressing skip, yay. Their style is very unique. Overall I love the cd...especialy the songs This Love, Harder to Breathe, She Will be Loved, Sunday Morning, Through With You, and Sweetest Goodbye. The bonus Track RagDoll is really good, I wonder why it wasn't on their non import cd. The remixes are ok, but a nice edition to the cd considering the import version cost the same as the regular cd.
