Bye, Bye, Birdie rating: 5
I thought this new rendition was great! The pairing of vocals
(Jason Alexander and Vanessa Williams) was awesome.

The definite 'Bye Bye Birdie' rating: 4
For those who only remember the 1963 film version of BYE BYE BIRDIE, you have missed out of some of the original songs and the original plot. Albert is engaged to Rosie (who wants him to be an English teacher, not a scientist like in the 1963 film version.) This is true to the original Broadway version. There are a few new songs, but they work very well. Jason Alexander and Vanessa Williams are wonderful! What a surprise to see both act, sing and dance (and well at that.) The only flaw is the casting of Cynna Phillips as Kim (she is much too old for the part.)Overall, skip the 1963 version and see this 'Birdie'. You'll be pleasantly surprised and much entertained.

Must have musical rating: 5
Best of the two "Bye Bye Birdie" movies (1995) and (1963). I am not fond of any Jason Alexander's work, but this one is notable. My family wore the VHS tape out. This DVD is a replacement for the tape.

The Pits rating: 1
A travesty of tacky talent and too-little imagination.
How anyone thought they could improve on Ann Margaret is beyond me.

Bye Bye Birdie rating: 5
I love this movie. I have never seen the first one but this one was fun. I am planing to see the fist one. Jason Alexander and Venessa Willams did a great job togeather. Now i wish they could make a "Bye Bye Birdie 2"! I would recomend this movie to anyone who loves musicals(like myself) and a romantic story(again myself). Have Fun and i hope this helped!
