Gotta have this 5.1 speaker system! rating: 5
I love this system. No, no I don't think you understand how great this system really is. It is very affordable, it is pretty small for a 5.1 speaker system and it can go with almost anything you can think of. I got this bad boy hooked up to my PS3 and I switched in between Xbox 360 and my PC. You can buy a 2 dollar optical digital cable for your Xbox or Ps3 (quality is better in my opinion) and you can hook it up to your 5.1 or 7.1 sound card in your pc and you can hook them both up at the same time. The set up is very minimal and the sound quality is incredible. The subwoofer is big though I gotta tell ya but boy does it deliver on the bass. The menu design is easy and intuitive and looks great with the LCD display. I really don't have any quarrels about this product, but don't expect it to be THE BEST THING you have ever heard, BUT it comes close.

power to spare rating: 5
i aint had this kind of power since i returned from germany in 88, w/ a Yamaha M-80, for those that know, you know what i mean, for those that dont, let me put it this way.....big block, 4 barrell, big cam & headers...w/a 4 speed, need i say more ?....this thing leaves a 400 foot posi-track black mark in my ears..power to spare...awesome.
really tho, i blew the 1st one, logi tech replaced it,literaly ripped the sub from over heating, i gave it it's own zip code..i.e...own recepticle, away from everything and a blower (fan), fan (also cools the control panel, one can feel the heat difference) over the louvers...i jamm hard and for the most part continously, this thing is tuff, ive worked my way up from the cheapest logi tech 5.1 at wall mart..i know right, ...i live way out in the country, when i jamm, its like a beacon in the night for all to hear miles away...i kid you not, the stop sign is 2 miles away, one can hear my harley or my Z5500 (there's a comparison for ya)from there at mid-night..for real.
i jamm off the laptop for the most part or via s-cable to TV w/ Phillips DivX DVD player which will play anything, w/ Nero ultra 7, or DivX pro,w/ frost wire type downloads, music, music videos, or regular movies.. all are awesome, i can play anything..LOUDLY..CONTINOUSLY...works great when i plugged my mp3 or i-pod up to it too.
did i say it was awesome?

Unreal! rating: 5
Words cannot describe the clarity and power of this system! Not to mention that the list price is $400 and Amazon sells it for under $200 (not including shipping). I recommend trying it for yourself.

Great sounding speaker system rating: 5
I bought this speaker system to replace my Klipsch Ultra Pro Media system when its amplifier failed (a very common problem with the Klipsch system). Until that time, I thought the Klipsch were the best sounding speakers available for computer use. I took a chance on the Logitech Z-5500 system and am not the least bit sorry. I am not a gamer so I cannot comment on that aspect but for music and videos, these speakers cannot be beat! The sub-woofer is large so make sure you have room for it under your desk. This system cannot compare to my home theater system but for listening to music and occasional DVD playback on the computer, it performs spectacularly. I should also mention that I like listening to my music as though it was being performed live -- not the terribly distorted booming bass popular with young people today.
