Following its exclusive release as part of the George Harrison Dark Horse box set earlier this year, The Dark Horse Years 1979-1992 DVD will be issued as a stand-alone release on November 2. Content is identical to the box set version (details below), but the standalone DVD will be packaged in an amaray case with deluxe 28 page booklet with a new cover shot featuring the black and white picture of George used on the box launch ads. This contains the extensive liner notes by David Fricke, accompanied by a great selection of photographs, illustrations and press cuttings. Olivia Harrison has contributed a short history of Dark Horse records and further notes about the Dark Horse Logo itself.

The Dark Horse Years does have its moments of interest. The live performance clips from Japan have to be a major high point in this collection, though the few videos from that tour makes one long for a full DVD release of the concert. Maybe at some point that will happen. And the collection of music videos from his Dark Horse albums are fun to see again. Why, however, were the videos of "Blow Away", and "All Those Years Ago" not also included? It is good hearing George talk about his music also throughout portions of the disc. Still, a fitting artifact in reminiscing about a music legend.

I realy found this to be a wonderful dvd, A real piece of George Harrison Music history, very well made. It was and still is a delight to watch and listen to George explaining each song video etc., I highly recommend!

For George Harrison Fans Everywhere!

I've been a Beatles fan since they first arrived in the United States in 1964 and have followed the career of George Harrison after The Beatles disbanded. I remember seeing his music videos, back in 1976, and had always wished that I could have them. Now I can and I enjoy them again and again....especially Crackerbox Palace and This Song! If additional Dark Horse videos become available in the future, and if they are as good as this one, I would highly recommend getting it!

i miss george so much.....and this dvd is such a joy to me......i just wish that it could have included blow away , all those years ago....this song......but i still hope for the 1991 japan tour dvd will arrive soon...olivia has promised a cd/dvd combo for the 1974 dark horse tour......there are still quite a few songs left over from brainwashed.....maybe a box set of outtakes would be nice. but this dvd is awesome for anyone who loves george solo........
