If your an anime collecting nerd that owns probably over 50 anime volumes, you'll be glad to have this box set. It saves space.
About the show, its good, some older people might not like it (I'm 13 and I like it though).
The animation is not the best in the universe. But hey, get used to it, pokemon's animation is always not good.
The theme song is crap, they changed it from the original Japanese one, Its freaking irritating when 4kids does that. but then, Why are they even licensing anime? its not really "4 kids" all the time.

Anywho who knows anything about DVDs knows that the standard dual layered disc has the capacity to hold 4 hours worth of material. So what happens when you put 12 25 minute episodes on one disc? Terrible picture compression. It's bad, very distracting. A times, the picture is pixellated the compression is that bad. And why> Because Viz are cheap. If this had been a six disc set instead, there would be no problems!

I got the 3 disc set the other day and it is great to see that 32 some episodes are on disc in one set. For about a couple years now i have been waiting for a season box set of pokemon episodes and finally i get to buy that. It is worth the money to spend it on and i am very exicited to get the second volume of this long and good season of pokemon. And hopefully in the future such things like these box sets will lead to more season box sets of pokemon from season 1 and such.

Gah. Judging from earlier descriptions of this box, I thought it'd be Uncut and billingual like other 4Kids DVDs. It's not the case, so no dice.
