Fantastic quality. Easy to use. Make sure that you go to Microsoft and download DirectX for XP. I did this after installing the ATI software and it complained that I did not have a USB 2.0 port (low bandwidth). (not true) After I got DirectX installed and restarted the computer everything worked fine.
Now some feedback about the supplier. He ships fast but did not communicate with me about my tracking number even though I payed for fast shipping. I asked 2 times and got an e-mail back saying that the package has shipped, but no tracking number. Of course when the package arrived it had the tracking number right on the US post office label.
It's a good product and I may buy another one.

Great Tuner but won't work with ATI's MMC upgrades

I liked this product for awhile until I upgraded ATI's Multimedia Center and found there were drawbacks like it couldn't use the LIVE TV feature and sometimes the tuner wouldn't be detected. In addition to a Slow Framerates. It wasn't my hardware as I had 4GB of Ram and plenty of horsepower 3.4GHZ running XP in addition to a 500GB Hard Drive with over 300GB of space free.
If you install it with the MMC on the disk and just upgrade to the latest drivers and other software ASIDE from the MMC itself it will be ok. But for some reason it chokes on any MMC upgrades above 9-08. This is more or less ATI's fault and not the hardware.
I would recommend this if you have a basic cable/analog setup at home and want to watch tv on your PC/Notebook.

I am really fascinated by this device. Its closed-caption capturing function is unique to this eqipment. I liked it very much. And I'd like to recommend this device to those who are non-
speak English as a foreign language. It will help them improve English greatly.

Continuing problems, waste of money.

I have had nothing but trouble getting this product to function at all. Currently, I get nothing but a blank screen. Re-Installing the software leads to all kinds of errors on reinstall, which require me to fix the registry and/or reformat the system in order to repair.
Even when I can get the TV Tuner to function, the sound is delayed compared to the picture (about 2 seconds) and the video is horrible. This is being used on a computer that FAR exceeds the minimum requirements for this system, but the problem is that the TV Tuner is the poorest ATI product I have ever purchased.
They make good video cards, but bad everything else. Complete waste of my money. And before someone questions these statements: I am a professional software engineer and know what I'm doing.
UPDATE 9/26/2006: after extensive troubleshooting and work, including attempting to reinstall this device on multiple computers, I have since discovered that this is the most useless piece of hardware with the most useless piece of software shipped right with it. I have since thrown away the TV tuner (I've owned it for too long to have it repaired or returned) and will be purchasing another TV Tuner from Hauppague. Sorry ATI, but you lost a customer this time around. I hope for your quick demise.
