This disc has a gold "Diamond Coat" top surface, and a gold (Phthalocyanine) recording surface, with a maximum recording speed of 52x. It will work with Rimage Prism and Primera Inscripta printers. Its packaged in 100 pc shrink wrap, and in master cartons of 600 pcs. This product is not designed to work in a Rimage Everest printer. This will work with screen printing. Mitsui/MAM-A Why is it better? #1 The Dye Since the laser which records the data burns the dye, it is a key aspect of the technology required to manufacture a high-quality CD-R. Indeed, One of MAM's greatest strength lies in its use of the patented Phthalocyanine, the best organic dye currently available. #2 The Surface Mitsui/MAM-A discs feature their own âDiamond Coatâ surface, which resists scratching and fingerprints. Unlike a pressed CD-ROM, normal CD-R processing leaves the most vital area the most vulnerable. Just below that lacquer surface & reflective layer on top of your disc is the precious dye layer, which is what stores all your data. Scratch the top, and youâve got a problem. Mitsui/MAM-A Diamond Coat is an extra hard surface that keeps the data safe. #3 The Consistency Every disc Mitsui/MAM-A makes is made to the center of the Orange Book standard. They donât cut any corners with shorter stacking rings (causes static), thinner reflective layers (poor playback on old readers, or dye (100-300 year life vs. 10-30)

these cdr are great for audiofile mastering . ive purchesed three spindes . the 24 karet gold covering is just amazing ,used with tascam 900 burner an musical fidelty state of the art cd player.,this is the way to go for high end achival quality mastering....raybo recordings....

Mostly a good product. However, I actually found a defective disc. I wouldn't have expected that from a high end product. I use them for CD Masters to send off for replication and have to have the absolute best product. Otherwise, they are worth the cost.

PERFECTON

The performance of this product compells me to provide this short treatise. I am a physicist performing experiments in sound and needed a good CDr. This product tested so vastly superior to all major brands that I did not believe my tests. I have now retested 50 times and can say that this is the epitome of quality in every way. Be warned, do not get these discs upside down-look down at the center and make sure you can read the center label writing as a test!!

EXCELLENT, reliable data storage--great for audio, too!

These CD-Rs are golden--both literally and figuratively! The quality of the sound I record onto them is a perfect copy of the sound from the source CD-R. Moreover, how can you beat a 300 year life expectancy? They'll survive longer than I will!
On the very bright side, these are manufactured with what Amazon notes is "phthalocyanine, the best organic dye currently available." Awesome! It is scratch and fingerprint resistant, too--I tested it!
On the down side, once in a while these CD-Rs can be fussy about which recording equipment they'll work with. However, they will work with the average PC and CD player. The packaging could be better, too: they arrive merely in the clear plastic wrap surrounded by bubble wrap so they don't get bumped around in transit. For the price you pay they ought to come in a protective cylinder shaped plastic shell!
All in all, however, these CD-Rs are excellent for data and audio storage. I highly recommend them as very attractive alternatives to standard, run of the mill store brand CD-R blank media. They are especially resilient against fingerprints and scratches; and their life expectancy just can't be beat! Awesome! SMILES

Compatibility issue

Five stars for quality because of its reputation, but a quick note here to say that these are not compatible with the Pioneer PDR-609 CD Recorder - a somewhat picky model. I used TDK instead with that older machine. Before buying a 100 pack of anything, buy a single disc or small pack with the rest of your Amazon order to check compatibility first.
