 | about as good as edge shave gel rating: 2
now i have tried all different sorts of shaving products over the years. it was the shaving cream in a can when i first started out then to the gels and so on.
within the past 2 years i've been trying out "top quality, department store brands." so i guess i've become somewhat of a snob when it comes to shaving creams. i started out with "the king of shaves" which makes for an excellent close shave with little razor burn if any. it is extremely slick but washes off very easily if u are shaving in the shower. although this is not a department store brand i hold it in the same league as some of the bests.
i've also tried zirh which has a nice tingle, gives a very close comfortable shave but sometimes i will get a cut now and then.
so far the lab series for men comfort shaving cream is my favorite. it actually numbs your face so u get no cuts and no razor burn feeling. like i said its my favorite until your face gets used to the numbing, then its just as good as zirh.
well today i used the art of shaves system (oil, cream, aftershave balm) wow what a disappointment. i haven't has such razor burn and cuts since i was using canned gels and creams. i was using the unscented one for sensitive skin. it was just plain awful. i even used a fresh razor to give it the benefit of the doubt. the aftershave balm made my face burn worse. i will never again use art of shaving products. and the only reason they got a 2 star was because they are just slightly better than caned cream.

Razor burns rating: 3
I have been using this product for two weeks now. I really enjoy the great Lavender smell and the lather quality. My only complaint is the razor burns which I did not expect from this pricey product.

great product rating: 5
First of all, I'm not a dermatologist, I'm just a heterosexual guy with sensitive skin who has tried many products and done a lot of research in the search of the right products. I offer reviews of Clinique, zirh, menscience, art of shaving and baxter of California, hope my reviews are helpful.
The art of shaving has to be my least favorite skincare product line. Their products are over prized, no samples or option of returning products if client is not satisfied is given.
With that said, their shaving cream is awesome; I felt no irritation or breakouts. My razor glided and I didn't even need an aftershave. It's their best product by far.

One of the best products that I have ever used for getting a clean close shave. I have been using it for over 14 years and I will continue to use it.

Good Stuff rating: 5
I began purchasing the art of shaving products at a time when I desired to learn how to shave with a straight razor. I still can't figure out how to shave with a straigh razor but I have stuck with the products because they, much to my surprise, do improve the quality of your shave. I use a mach 3 turbo with this cream and the most notable thing I see consistantly is that my shave is much more even than with the canned shaving creams I used to get. When coupling this product with a pre-shave oil, and after shave lotion I do notice that my skin and stubble are both far more soft than they have been in the past which was especially nice in the winter when my face didn't feel like raw hamburger after a shave. I don't know how the cream plays in to this equation so I would recommend picking up the trio of products but on its own merits I would say that this cream at the very least provides the most even and smooth shave of any cream I have used to this point in my life. It does take a minor amount of practice to figure out how to get a really good lather. Definitely worth the investment if you give a crap about your skin in the least.
