 | Porn Directors Are People Too rating: 5
Adam, better known as Seymore Butts, is a young porn director who runs a successful business with the help of his sweet mother Lila and grumpy cousin Steve. This program, originally made for Showtime, shows the funny, crazy and sometimes sweet moments in the daily lives of Adam and his family. For example, Adam not only directs hardcore porn but is also a loving and attentive father for his young son Brady.
Many of the scenes seem like they set up for the camera rather than being spontaneous occurences. Still the show remains funny and entertaining throughout so who really cares. But for me the best part is that it shows those in the porn biz as real people with all the ups and downs of life that we all face rather than perverse monsters bent on the exploitation of women and moral decay of society. In other words, it is a realistic portrayal rather than one based on the delusional stereotypes of the sex negative puritans on both the right and left of the political spectrum.
Those seeking hardcore sex scenes should look elsewhere. But for those looking for a funny, smart show about regular folks who just happen to make a living in porno this is an excellent choice.

Good, but make sure it's what you want rating: 4
I see this as an interesting documentary-type show set behind the scenes in an adult movie business. The people featured in it are interesting, and the issues they deal with are interesting, so I have no quarrel with what the other good reviews of it here are saying. BUT, I don't see this as very visually erotic, if that's what you're looking for. The sexy scenes in it are very brief, and some episodes hardly have any such scenes at all. Thus, it's a very good show, but make sure it's the kind of show you're looking for.

Very Entertaining rating: 4
This is a documentary more than a (c)ocumentary, but I'm sure you're aware of that. This is a great series, albeit a bit short. But that just shows how enjoyable it was. I could have watched 2 more discs worth. I wish they would include more behind the scenes interviews and outtakes, for example. I don't have the first season, but from what I read, this was a bit better.
I would definitely recommend this for those open minded liberal couples. It really is entertaining.

This season is even better then the first rating: 5
I love season two it has that black guy and Adam playing jokes on each other. Mari Possa became more of a porn star by getting breast implants even became a stripper I hated it when that other woman who was teach her how to strip was convincing her to just think money forget about the guys feelings saying "give me all your money" "make them work for it". Adam's mother went on a date but she only like him as a friend. Mari and Adam also got together at the very end of the season finale I don't know why Adam was shy at first he said "I'm started to get the feeling the right women this whole entire time was right under my noise". The funny thing was in one episode when Adam went to Chicage cousion Steve was in charge he was running around like a loon he was tring to hurry up and put as many video tapes in the case's as he can then the drop some of them on the ground I said "O Boy".

For the price it's not bad rating: 4
I reveiewed the first season box set of this series. It was more expensive than the second series, but had more bonus features as well. This review is more for those who already know the series, but want to know what this DVD offers. On 2 discs you have all 10 episodes, and audio options. On the 2nd disc, there is a bonus feature called family shorts. Basically it's just a few minutes of Q&A with Seymore, Cousin Stevie, and Mari Possa. My position is that I wouldn't mind paying an additional $20 for more bonus options. For the price, it's not bad.
