MY REVIEW
I think this is a great purchase for a knockout price. This DVD includes twelve flicks (low budget/B movies) - mystery, murder, suspense, the hokey, sci-fi, kitsch...with some actors and actresses you know (i.e. Bela Lugosi, Boris Karloff, Ginger Rogers, et. al). If you're a Bela Lugosi fan, this is worth checking; there are four films with him especially the classic, "White Zombie." If you want to explore past Bela and "Dracula," for a good price, this is your DVD.
Buy it. Have a party. Invite your friends, family...anyone you like. Or let it just be you and a dark, rainy night. Pop some popcorn. Have a good, frightful, hokey time.

LISTED TITLES: TWELVE FEATURES
1. "The Monster Walks" (1932. Frank R. Strayer)
-It was a dark and stormy night, and in an old, gloomy house lurked a killer ape? Only in Hollywood.

2. "Monster From a Prehistoric Planet" (1967. Haruyasu Noguchi)
-A giant beast - part bird, part lizard.
The special effects are the takeaway here. It's good this set includes a Japanese monster flick.

3. "The Gorilla" (1930. Allan Dwan)
The Ritz Brothers are hired to investigate a killer (a.k.a. "The Gorilla). Mayhem along the way. Bella Lugosi plays Peters, the Butler.

4. "A Shriek in the Night" (1933. Albert Ray)
-Rival, newspaper reporters (also in love with each other) band together to report on mysterious murders occurring in an ritzy apartment building.
-Ginger Rogers and Lyle Talbot (first actor to play Commissioner Gordon from "Batman" and Lex Luther from "Superman" on-screen).
This low budget movie is worth checking out if you're a mystery buff.

5. "The Giant Gila Monster" (1959. Ray Kellogg)
-Fun, fifties sci-fi flick. (Hot rods, teenagers, and a giant lizard).

6. "The Fatal Hour" (1940. William Nigh)
-It's the fourth film from the "Mr. Wong series." (There were six films altogether.) A low budget series that was a (counterfeit?) knock off of the "Charlie Chan series." Boris Karloff reprises his role as Chinese detective, James Lee Wong, investigating mysterious murders and colorful suspects again. Also starring is Marjorie Reynolds; she's best known as Linda Mason in "Holiday Inn" (1942) with Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire.

7."Dead Men Walk" (1943. Sam Newfield)
-Good and evil twins. Satanism. Sorcery. Vampires.
I heard it's a good B-movie.
What is it with our fascination with the Devil, witches, demons, and vampire?

8. "The Mad Monster" (1942. Sam Newfield)
-Mad scientist. Werewolf.
A cool, campy movie.

9. "Black Dragons" (1942. William Nigh)
- A low budget, WWII espionage flick.
Bela Lugosi stars in it. For me, it's worth looking for curiosity since I'm a Bela fan.

10. "Invisible Ghost" (1941. Joseph H. Lewis)
-Bela Lugosi is a hypnotic murderer/innocent victim.
It's a bad movie but worth seeing by Joseph H. Lewis' direction. Makes me think, how many B movies like this did Bela Lugosi (and Boris Karloff ) make?

11. "One Body Too Many" (1944)
-It's a mystery where Jack Haley (The Tin Man, "The Wizard of Oz") plays an insurance salesman who's mistaken for a private detective at a creepy house. Bela Lugosi and Lyle Talbot in the supporting cast.

12. "White Zombie" (1932. Victor Halperin)
Voodoo, Zombies, and Lugosi. What more could you ask for?
I believe this is the first Hollywood zombie movie. This DVD set is worth buying for this movie alone. (and it's Bela!)

~These 12 films make me think of a Drive-In.
