I was happy to order 250' of 12 gauge zip cord with some terminators at a reasonable price. Unfortunately, it turns out that this item doesn't fit the bill. First of all, it does not include the pictured terminators (they only come on the shorter rolls). Second of all, the spindle does not support the weight of the wire---mine arrived damaged, because someone must have tried to lift it with the disc and it broke.
But the most major flaw is that this wire is poorly designed from an electrical point of view. You can't see it in the picture, but the positive and negative wires are separated by about half a centimeter of insulation. This design greatly increases inductance, which can cause high frequency roll-off. This may or may not be audible depending on the equipment and the length of the wire. But as far as I know there's no good reason to do it, except to be "different" and make vague marketing claims about reducing magnetic fields. I contacted AR and asked for an explanation, and they never replied.
In short, if you hunt around you can find standard 12 gauge speaker wire for equal or less money, and that's what I would recommend.
