Zak Designs Wildflower 12-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 4

Zak Designs Wildflower 12-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 4

Though perfect for outdoor dining, Wildflower from Zak Designs is too pretty to hide away until the next picnic. The dinnerware is made of melamine, a tough, break-resistant material that doesn't flinch at being dropped on brick patios or mishandled at children's birthday parties. Covered with a colorful chintz-style floral pattern on a white background, Wildflower features red, yellow, and blue flowers that twine merrily with thin green leaves and tendrils. Larger red flowers dominate the dinner plate, making a bold counterpoint to the more dainty salad plate and bowl patterning. The set includes four of each of the following: a ten-inch dinner plate, an eight-inch salad or sandwich plate, and a six-inch-diameter bowl for soup, cereal, or ice cream that hold approximately three cups.

One of the hottest trend-setters in tableware, Zak Designs produces colorful cartoon-covered melamine ware for children as well as retro-look melamine, ceramic, and polycarbonate dinner- and drinkware for adults. While not suitable for microwave use, melamine dinnerware is safe for the dishwasher in the top rack. Wildflower bowls and plates stack very compactly for slipping into a picnic basket or storing in a cozy RV, boat, or vacation cabin kitchen. --Ann Bieri
