I watch DVDs', while riding bicycle in the fitness. I try to absorb during my exercises knowledge on different subjects, but unfortunately not all the documentaries are informative. Many of them are kind of chicken sup, readers digest, gossip stuff and based on amazons revues it is rather hard to decide what is what kind. As to NOVA and most of the BBC DVDs' mostly i was satisfied.

while it is expensive i think it is well worth the price, moreso when you consider that this is for a nonprofit organization

Great Episodes, but no special box

Nova shows are always very high quality and that is why I bought this set. Many of the 43 DVDs I wanted to get, so even with the few that I wasn't sure I'd like it is still cheaper than buying singles. Then again, I bet when I watch the ones I was indifferent towards, I'll love them anyway. The issue I have is that there is no special cases or holders - you get a cardboard box that says NOVA and has 43 individually wrapped DVDs inside - just as if you bought them seperately at the store. Each one has shrink wrap and those dang security stickers to remove. What a pain! I bought the set new from a seller on Amazon for $450 - so for 43 of them it is a great price for such educational programs.

We don't have cable(not worth it) so PBS is one of the only channels we get . Our children(ages 10,8 and 2) have grown up loving NOVA(and all other PBS science shows).This set would make a magnificent gift.Note I say GIFT,because at this price(even with the discount)I would never buy it.Lucky for us we were able to tape the whole 2005 season as we watched it . HOORAY FOR NOVA!!!!!!!!!! It was a GREAT season.

This is great, but who can afford it? It averages out to slightly more than $12.00 per episode (with Amazon's price), but you'd think there would be a better price break for purchasing them all at once. I will never buy something this prohibitively expensive, no matter what it is or how much I admire the series.
