The Archos 500879 Docking Adapter Kit is designed to be used with your Archos 404, 504, or 604 series portable digital media players. The Archos docking adapter perfectly complements your Archos portable media player, allowing it to charge more quickly than when it is simply connected to your computer via a USB cable. This unit also allows your Archos media player to transfer files to and from your computer, as well as allowing you to transfer photos directly from a digital camera via USB host. This adapter features built-in connections for a USB device (miniB connector), a USB host (A connector), and a DC input, and runs on 5.2 volts and 2 amps via an Archos power supply. The Archos docking adapter weighs only 0.8 ounces, and measures 3.3 x 1.1 x 0.6 inches (W x H x D). The Archos docking adapter kit includes the docking adapter, a power adapter with multiple plugs for Europe, the US, and the UK, and a USB cable for connecting to a computer.

Its a great kit to have with your Archos 604. No need to lug the laptop on vacations...you can connect your camera to the dock and download your pictures in minutes! Great buy!

Although this product works well why the hell didn't they include this absolutely essential item with the product? Was it because they wanted us to pay extra and buy a little bit of this and little bit of that? By the way the Archos unit itself is very good, but the learning curve is extensive and the buttons are so unintuitive that it makes operation rather frustrating at times.

This was a great accessory for my Archos 404. It charges faster than attaching it to my PC and there are more ways to connect it to various devices. Highly reccomended.

A welcomed addition to my Archos 604

IT makes the recharging of the Archos battery quite a bit faster than the USB cable alone. It is light weight but I do not take it in trips, I use it at home to recharge the battery and connect the ARCHOS 604 to my desktop and transfer files, for travel I use the provided cable and my laptop that I need to take anyway. If you do not have to travel with a laptop then this would definitively be worth taking with you.

This is great no problems here, you can take it to anyplace and have the corresponding adapters for AC charge, also it charges the archos faster then the usb.
