AeroBed All-Terrain Raised Air Mattress
User Reviews
Aerobed all terrain raised mattress
rating: 5

We needed an air mattress for fishing trips. This has worked out well and has inflated and deflated with ease. There was a glitch with the pump when we first got it, but Aerobed quickly replaced it - great customer service. Would definitely buy again.

held up to 1 month of tent camping!

After reading a lot of reviews, I took a chance on this AeroBed. I like it firm so had to top it off every night as it loses air throughout the day. I was super careful with it since some reviews complained of tearing...it lasted the whole month of tent camping through NM, AZ, UT and CO. I would have never lasted that long on a thin camping mat! Just be gentle with set up and folding procedures and you should be fine.

campsite turns into hotel room

I took my new areobed all-terrain raised air mattress car camping for a week . It worked amazing. For the last few years, I had a regular cheap 9 inch air mattress and a quick air pump for my camping trips to the beach. They worked fine but I decided to upgrade this year. I am so glad I did. First, I would say that this mattress is designed for camping. Do follow the directions on charging the first time for 24 hrs! So the pieces in other people's reviews about the air pump and not being able to use it plugged in does not matter when you are camping. When I first set up my camp site I fill up the air mattress from the car (cig lighter) It took only a few minutes. My sheets worked great on the bed. I used one sized up of sheets (so queen) because that is what I had. They stayed on all week without a problem. The airpump is a cool design. It auto turned on when you attach it to the mattress and turns off when take it off the mattress. Also it auto closes the hole so no air escapes. This is a great feature since I always end of losing a bunch air on other beds while taking the pump off and shutting the intake. I like a firm bed so every night I would take the pump attach it to the bed and add a little air. It took like 30 seconds and was easy with the cordless pump. It really turned our tent into more of a hotel room. It did not feel like we were sleeping on the ground but more of a regular bed. When we packed up the bed deflated easy and went back in the bag.
I am always looking for gear that makes our car camping Lux car camping. This aero bed certainly is a lux camping item. I have a second trip to the beach for week later this summer and know that I will sleep well on my aero.

Faulty Junk
rating: 1

This bed is not really good for extended use because it gets a lot of wear and tear on the surface which causes air to leak. I bought one for about [price] and used it for only a year. It comes with a loud motor that smells like burnt rubber and one little patch kit that is next to worthless. Those info-mercials you see on TV are a complete lie, I stood up on this and it popped and I almost broke my neck as I fell to the floor. It isn't really easy to travel with this either because it is so heavy and awkward when carrying on a bus load of Norwegians, who are rude to begin with because of the cold air coming from the Russian isthmus.

Just fine - as long as you don't want to inflate it!

We were very excited to have our Aerobed arrive on the very day that we needed it. Unfortunately, one thing none of the advertising for this bed tells you is that the pump that comes with it

* does not run off regular house current (that is only to recharge it)
* requires 24+ hours to fully charge

The pump does come with a 12 volt adapter that will allow you to inflate the mattress using your car battery. However, the very thought of lugging the mattress outdoors in the snow and cold to blow it up, then attempting to maneuver the miserable thing back inside was at best underwhelming.

This airmattress has exactly one purpose: to throw in the back of the car for a quick camping trip. If you want a spare guest bed, choose something else!
