Great commuter backpack
rating: 4

I started commuting on a combination of a bike and the local light rail so I needed a backpack that could hold my laptop, its accessories, and a change of clothes. The Metro does all of this for me and, as I was pleasantly surprised to find out, considerably more. The main compartment is roomier than it looks and I can fit shoes, office clothes, a book, and my lunchbag in it without much of a struggle. The two right side pockets fit my laptop's AC adapter and mouse pretty well, and the left side "hydration" pocket is EXACTLY the right size for the 24 ounce OXO beverage container I use for my coffee. The zipper for that pocket has a bad tooth so I have to be careful with it, and it came that way, which kind of sucks but it's easy enough to live with. The top pockets are good for my MP3 player and small doodads although I keep my MP3 player in the bigger pocket, not the one designated for it, which I think is a bit small. The two smaller front pockets are nice and functional, with the top one compartmentalized for pens, ID, cards, keys, etc.

The laptop pocket is handily accessed from the side and my only complaint about it is that there's no padding on the bottom. Backpacks are set down hard or fall down frequently, and they nearly always land on the bottom part. A bit of padding under the laptop compartment would have saved a crack in one of the corners of my computer after the bag slipped out of my hands while trying to fumble open a car door one day. I know that's my fault, but it would still have been nice.

Overall I'm very happy with the bag and have used it daily for at least a month with no issues. I know people who paid three times as much or more for their bags, which seem to be of barely higher quality and no more utility than mine.

Great Bag, Great Quality...
rating: 5

I like a bag which is quality constructed, useful and not gimmicky. This bag is super useful, I use it mainly while I'm riding my motorcycle. The chest strap is useful while riding to keep the bag in place at highway speed.

Great Bag - Weight Evenly Distributed
rating: 5

For all of you out there who needs a pack fully loaded you'll be amazed just how nice a full pack can feel and you can easily get your notebook out without going through a central pocket. Good price too. Many people have asked about this bag and are amazed how nice it feels slung over one shoulder.

fits smaller 17" notebook
rating: 4

I bought this for my work notebook, a 17" dell & it fits great. I've also got a larger HP dv9700t which fits, but just barely. The color is a darker blue than in the picture and the fabric is somewhat shiny. Not a bad look, just not what I was expecting.

Best Backpack Yet
rating: 4

I ordered this backpack because I was tired of my messenger bag and its sloppy arrangement of effective compartments. The Metro is perfect, there's a pocket for everything from my iPod, phone, laptop, wallet, keys, power cord, glasses, etc. The only thing missing is a hydration sleeve, but I honestly wouldn't use it that much anyway.

Would recommend to any friend who has to cart around textbooks or a notebook PC.
