I was rummaging though my local Sephora when the big tube of Korres Quince body butter caught my eye all the way across the entire store. I am not new to the line but it was the first time I saw the tube - it looked like a Matisse painting, rich and vivid, echoing to be tested, so I did and fell in love with the rich, juicy scent of something I have never even eaten before. Since I was in a need of a nice hand cream and was stocked with body lotions, I picked up the trio - one to use at work, one for my bag and one to keep by my bed. The tubes are quite large if one thinks of it as hand cream, otherwise I would think they would deplete after a few days of use from head to toe.
The texture of this butter is different, not thick and pasty but soft and creamy like an indulgent lotion. My skin felt velvety and silky after one application and I have been enamored with the body butters ever since. I find that the regular Korres body lotions to be too thin even thought I love the scents so this solves my problem perfectly.
The three scents in this kit are Quince, Fig and Guava.
Quince - very bright and happy, scent wise a cross between a juicy pear and succulent woody berries. For those who enjoy fruity scents this is bliss in a tube.
Fig - at first it smelled strange and herbal but a few minutes later the scent mellowed into liquor like warmth, it reminds me of one of my favorite perfumes by Fresh called "Fig Apricot". Once it dries down the scent is delicious and heady - something to wear after dark.
Guava - fluid and airy, it smells like someone sprinkled floral sugar into warm water. This was a surprise, one would assume it would smell tropical but instead it lingers on the skin like a wisp of freshness with a touch of mellow sweetness.
I can't decide which one is my favorite since they are all so sophisticated and beautiful. I find that the scents get even more wonderful few minutes after applying, when the top notes dissipate and the middle part of the fragrance blossoms.
