| User Reviews | | easy to use rating: 5
Needing a larger USB disk to hold all my data, I had recently purchased a Sandisk Cruzer, but it had so many bells and whistles of software and security on it that I had to manually double-click all over the place just to access it. This Kingston USB disk, besides coming from a reputable company, is easy to use and I can just back up on it with no hurdles to jump. I do not have need or interest in the security tools.

Doesn't make good contact with the USB port rating: 1
The main reason I bought this drive instead of others is that it does not have a lid for the USB connector. The mechanism is such that if you push up the button on the side, the USB connector pops out. I found the following problems with my drive (within 3 days of use)
1) The USB port on the my Kingston DataTraveler doesn't connect reliably to any USB port on any computer. There seems to be some loose contact always.
2) The USB connector is supposed to "lock" so that the connector doesn't go into the device (instead of the USB female port on the computer or whatever) when you try to plug in the USB drive. The locking mechanism isn't reliable on mine and at times the connector gets pushed into the memory stick itself instead of the USB female port on my laptop.
3) This USB memory device is a little big. If you have two adjacent USB ports on your computer and this device is plugged into one of them the other USB port on your computer is blocked and rendered unusable.

8 GB Kingston rating: 3
I really expect that this flash drive is a Hi-Speed as named by Kingston (Kingston 8GB USB 2.0 Hi-Speed DataTraveler 110-Green-DT110G/8GB) but it's not. When you insert it, it will take time to pop up. The transferring of data is another problem. You will only be pissed off. Better not to try this product.

Lots of memory for small size and low price, but it is slow slow slow slow slow! rating: 3
I had read the review for this before buying it and was duly warned about how slow this drive is, but I took a chance anyway. Definitely a good size, especially for the capacity. However, it is slow to transfer files, even with folders on the drive.
It took me 16 straight hours of transferring files to move 4500 items (on average of 50KB each, so not even hi res pix!) from my hard drive to this jump drive.
But at least I can move some non-essential files off my desktop now. It just takes a bit of patience is all.
