Robert Meacham shows in just a few pages how a story can be emotional, compelling, and well strung together. The story -line itself- is common but written uncommonly by an author to watch.

Too Short and Poorly Edited

I was disappointed that the story was only 12 pages long until I began reading it. While the story has legs, the existing narrative is poorly edited and tediously worded.

A tale from the Amazon Shorts program, The Indiscretion focuses on the aftermath of a love affair gone wrong.
Elizabeth met and connected with Luke at work. Infatuated with his charm, she soon is caught up in a secret affair that is both exciting and troubling.
Deciding to end the affair, Elizabeth meets her lover to tell him...And then tragedy brings the whole thing out...
She wakes up in a hospital bed, her husband at her side - from this point forward, she struggles to rebuild her life.
An interesting slice of life, this story was very short and to the point. I would like to see a little more backstory to explain the emotions and actions of the characters, but perhaps the point of the story is to depict the darker impulses that seemingly come out of nowhere.

Haunting Love Affair

THE INDISCRETION is another fine short story by Robert A. Meacham. I was introduced to his work in the captivating Daimons Disguise, and he has another winner with this haunting tale of a love affair gone wrong. It describes the heartbreaking saga of a married woman who has a short dalliance with a dashing co-worker, and pays a horrible price. She and her loving husband must face the consequences, and try to bring their lives back together.
This short story is part of the Amazon Shorts program which allows downloading of digital versions to a private digital library. At the modest price of only forty-nine cents, this is truly a bargain.

Forgiveness

Robert Meacham has crafted a powerful story with "The Indiscretion." This story of betrayed love and trust is told in a straight forward manner with strong emotions showing the way. Jeff, the betrayed husband, is hurt beyond measure, but shows his true character in this story. Emotions run strong throughout this story and it was a pleasure to read. I recommend it with 5 stars. Great writing, Mr. Meacham.
